A tough week.

I really was set up with a challenge this week I went into a pin up on monday morning a week before my hand In and I knew my samples for my rolls royce brief weren't as strong as they should be. So when I went into my pin up they were brutally honest and said to think about changing my colour scheme to my work stand out better. I looked back through my work and looked at what colours I could work with, in some of my early drawings I created drawings and stuck bright tissue paper over the top and it's the bright pink that pops out to me. And my tutor said to work with the grey scale so that its not to over powering and then the pink would really stand out.

I decided to go back a step to start with and create more drawings so that I would have more visual research to work with. From them I began working from those and my samples began to come out much better, the first image below was a sample i did In a panic straight after my pin up session and then they go on to get much better like the last image which is possibly my faviourte sample for this whole assignment.

The starting ones are awfull I was clutching at staws to come up with ideas but then I feel I really started to get into my flow. Getting onto the ethos was a god send as the only sample that did work out of my last set was a ethos stitch out which I wanted to do again but change the colour scheme, which luckily I was able to do and stitch out another design of two of my drawings cut in half and placed together. I really liked the abstractness of the image they're very graphic which is the look I wanted for this assignment and the grey backings make them very sleek and stylish i feel like these designs are simplistic and timeless which is the apperance that I think of when I think of rolls royce.
