Playing around with colour

Keeping In mind that my colour pallet should appeal to females of all ages my colours need to reflect this. Below I feel are key images of how I have tried play around with different colour palettes.

I find the colours in the image above are too similar to one another mainly the blue and purple I find they almost blend into one another. The colour scheme as a whole here I find to flat and it doesn't really stand out enough for what I'm looking for.

I have tried to keep similar colours through out my work but mainly in different tones I really like the bottom one as I feel it would appeal to a wide age range. But what makes it feminine people often relate pinks and purples with girls and the soft tone of all the colours I feel would be very attractive to women also. Seeing as my final product would be sold on the MMU website (theoretically)  I feel it should also appeal to the people would attend the university. What I'm looking for is a colour pallet / and pattern that could be transferred into other elements of interior design that could be sold in gift shops.
